7 Tips That‘ll Make Your Resume Stand Out
I was (un)fortunate enough to go through the process of applying for a job.
In my mind the process was simple. I prepare my resume, I send it to a company, the recruiters or HR screen it, and I’m invited to an interview.
I spent days contemplating what my resume should look like. Going over dozens of different fonts until I made a decision.
Thankfully, some friends of mine introduced me to some recruiters (friends of theirs). They screen thousands of resumes every year, and they were nice enough to give me their view on this topic.
I applied their tips, sent my resume, and 1 month later I was starting my new job.
So let’s get started, shall we?
Tailor Your Resume
First and foremost always tailor your resume for the job you are applying for — this means stating relevant work experience and education.
Do not write about your summer job if it has nothing to do with the job you are applying for.
Do not write a general resume that you send to different job openings. Curated resumes go a long way.
