Once upon a time, people used to have to carry around a bulky Walkman and a bag full of CDs just to have music on the go.
It feels weird even thinking about it.
The good old days of the early 2000s. MP3 players came along and changed everything about music. Suddenly, we could fit our entire music collection in our pockets and rock out to our hearts’ content, without having to worry about carrying around a back brace.
But then, another miracle also occurred — the iPod was born.
This is perhaps Apple’s most iconic product.
This little device changed the game and made it possible to have your entire music library at the tip of your fingers (literally).
At the time, Apple wanted to change the game of MP3 players. They found them “big and clunky or small and useless” with user interfaces that were “unbelievably awful”. Thus, they created the iPod in an attempt to change the game.
To this day, 450 million iPods have been sold. It is safe to say that the iPod did alter the landscape of portable music…
