I highlighted a lot of your article and It's because there's some truth to what you're saying. I'd like to extend your main point to social media in general.
I think social media is destroying humans in many shapes and forms. The fact that people nowadays are only focusing on appearance instead of the quality of their personality is the issue.
Filters, makeup, and Photoshop, they're all tools that help you create a persona online that people and yourself start to confuse with real life-- and that's the real problem.
Men and women have shifted their focus to one main thing, and that's creating an online profile that looks beautiful, successful, fun, interactive, etc. but in reality, they're nothing like that.
The online currency nowadays is based on attention and numbers, but real-life currency is far more complex when it comes to dating and that's something many people tend to overlook.
Lastly, I'd like to say that you're right. This overstimulation in both men and women is extremely toxic. Men are nonstop bombarded by pictures and photos of women online, and women are drowned with attention which are the two main ingredients of the false reality we live in.
I was an avid user of social media and dating apps in the past but nowadays I prefer meeting people in real life. Large friend groups, bars, and traveling, are all great ways to meet and interact with people, and dating offline is nothing like online dating. The first one is fun while the second one is straight-up depressing.
Great article man, I wish you the best on your writing journey :)
